The First Aid at Work Requalification (FAW) course is a comprehensive, two-day training programme designed for individuals who have previously completed the three-day First Aid at Work qualification and need to renew their certification. The course provides an opportunity to refresh essential first aid knowledge, update practical skills and maintain the confidence needed to respond effectively to workplace injuries, illnesses and medical emergencies.
Whether responding to a minor injury or a life-threatening situation, this course helps participants maintain the knowledge and practical skills required to provide safe and effective first aid in the workplace. The programme revisits essential first aid procedures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), managing an unconscious casualty, controlling severe bleeding and responding to a wide range of workplace injuries and medical emergencies.
Through practical demonstrations, hands-on activities and realistic workplace scenarios, participants reinforce their existing knowledge, develop their practical abilities and demonstrate their competence in providing first aid.
On successful completion, participants receive a renewed First Aid at Work qualification, valid for a further three years.
Who is this course suitable for?
The First Aid at Work Requalification course is designed for individuals who already hold a First Aid at Work qualification and need to renew their certification to continue acting as a designated workplace first aider.

Important entry requirement: Participants must have previously completed a full First Aid at Work qualification.
The two-day requalification course is intended for existing FAW certificate holders. Individuals whose certificates have expired should check their eligibility before booking, as the full three-day course may be required.

Assess an emergency situation and provide appropriate first aid while ensuring the safety of themselves and others.

Assist an unconscious casualty and manage breathing difficulties.
Recognise and respond to choking, severe bleeding and shock.
Recognise and provide first aid for heart attacks, strokes, seizures and diabetic emergencies.
Provide appropriate first aid for fractures, dislocations and injuries to the head, neck and spine.
Manage burns, scalds, eye injuries and other common workplace injuries.
Recognise and respond to poisoning and anaphylaxis.
Record and report workplace first aid incidents appropriately.
